FAQ/Detailed Info

Is there a dress rehearsal?

No.  All rehearsals at Taylor Aud will be in regular dance clothes, just have costumes and bring from home pieces ready for recital day.  Don't forget to double check the costume sheet sent home for costume and hair details before the event, as there isn't a practice run.

Do dancers need a mask?

YES.  Please have a solid black mask for each dancer for recital day.  (sorry forgot to put this in costume info)

Do parents need to be backstage?  No.  Enjoy the tiny recital that you get:)  PreK, Kinder, 1-2nd grade classes will have individual changing stations for each dancer for parent to put change of shoes (tap/ballet) and second skirt in assigned spot for backstage helpers to change dancers.  Older rec classes will also have individual spot assigned for quick change to second costume if applicable.

Competition dancers WILL need to work out costume changes with parents if needed (just like competition).  All dancers will stay backstage for the entire length of his/her show, and should be picked up immediately after.

When should dancers arrive for recital?

PREK-KINDER classes are at 10:30 am Saturday, and should come dressed in their first costume, with costume change in hand to lay out for quick change.  Arrival between 10-10:15 am.

1ST-MIDDLE RECREATIONAL CLASSES are at 2 pm Saturday, and should come dressed in their first costume, with costume change in hand to lay out for quick change.  Arrival between 1:15-1:30 pm.

COMPETITION TEAM show is at 6 pm Sat AND 3 pm Sun, and should come in full stage makeup and hair, with costumes lined out for the lineup and should promptly get in to first costume and have a plan to change throughout the show.  HEY PETITES AND PREMIERS- remember that extra tap dance in your lineup:)  Note:  We will say goodbye to our Seniors during the Sunday show.  Arrival between 5-5:15 pm and 2-2:15 pm.

Do female recreational dancers need makeup?

Since masks are required, only a little pink blush up the cheek bone and mascara please.
